This presentation will break down some myths that we’re told about feet, help you understand natural foot function and start you off on some practical ways to recapture your own foot freedom.
Andy has been a podiatrist for coming up 25 years. The first 18 of which were in very much a traditional setting where orthotic therapy was the mainstay and mainstream footwear wasn’t questioned, and a foot exercise might have been a towel scrunch and a calf stretch.
Through his own personal experience of “foot freedom” (the ability to do what we like without worrying about our feet!) through moving in more variable ways and using shoes that promote that movement he has slowly changed the way he practices. Questioning the shape and structure of the environment that you put your feet in…you shoes…is paramount.
Teaching how to strengthen feet and how they function as part of the body in day to day life (read balance!) is how Andy helps his clients approach their foot issues.
