This is my team from OsteoStrong Australia who are leading a revolution in natural bone and muscle health.
I am Perry Eckert, Master Franchisor and owner of OsteoStrong Hawthorn, Ballarat, Launceston and Crows Nest. In addition to these locations, we have 4 amazing franchisee centres located in Colonel Light Gardens. Manly, South Melbourne and Hobart.
5 years ago, I made the choice to bring OsteoStrong to Australia with the hope of supporting those struggling with osteoporosis and poor bone health, focusing on making a positive impact where it is most needed. With a family history of osteoporosis, fragility fractures and several post-hip fracture deaths, I was keenly aware of the significant social burden these conditions place on individuals and their families. But I did not anticipated the profound impact COVID-19 would have on people’s lives and the unique challenges of establishing a new service business during such times. Despite these hurdles, we persevered. With the dedication of an exceptional team, we seized this opportunity to strengthen our franchise systems and enhance our marketing strategies, laying a solid foundation for sustained growth in the future.
Today, we continue our mission empowering people to strengthen their bones and muscles and enhance their balance, substantially reducing the risk of falls and fractures. This not only contributes to a longer lifespan but, more crucially, extends the healthspan – the period during which a person maintains good health.
The heavy burden of falls, poor bone health and related chronic conditions
The impact of falls is staggering – pun intended! With over 364 Australians hospitalised daily, contributing to a substantial economic and social burden. Over half these incidents involve people over 70 years old, which usually results in loss of mobility and independence.
Nearly 5 million Australians suffer from poor bone health, 3.6 million suffer from chronic back pain and 1.2 million have Diabetes Type 2. These are significant and largely preventable public health concerns, that cost our health system billions of dollars every year.
Many OsteoStrong members, who attend just once weekly, have experienced transformative results. They report successfully reversed osteoporosis, enhanced blood glucose management, alleviated symptoms of fibromyalgia, and eliminated chronic joint and back pain. Additionally, they have regained strength and balance, significantly reducing their risk of falls and fractures.
OsteoStrong is drug free and based on the cutting-edge science of osteogenic loading, without the very real risks associated with heavy lifting weight, absorbing high impacts or pharmaceuticals. It is extremely effective, easy to do for most people of all ages and levels of mobility and doesn’t leave people exhausted or sore.
OsteoStrong’s unique bone health program utilises patented Spectrum machines that position individuals to maximise their strength, allowing them to generate forces up to ten times greater than in their weakest movement ranges. This capability surpasses what can be achieved with traditional equipment like weights, Pilates, Keiser machines, or yoga. The significant forces that OsteoStrong members can safely exert prompt a rapid and measurable adaptive response in bones and muscles, leading to quick and significant health benefits.
Supported by Scientific Studies
The science of OsteoStrong is supported by a number of studies in the US and UK. But several very recent studies in Greece, Sweden and Australia are in the process of being completed and some relevant information from those studies has become available.
In the published abstract of the 2023 Greek Study, substantial improvements in bone density among participants who engaged in OsteoStrong sessions were reported. Two crucial metrics were utilised to assess bone density.
Firstly, the cortical bone density in the lumbar region, representing the outer layer of the bone, exhibited a remarkable average increase of 2.21% in Bone Mineral Density (BMD) within the OsteoStrong group. In stark contrast, the control group experienced a loss of 0.12%. This profound discrepancy underscores the effectiveness of OsteoStrong in preserving and enhancing bone density.
Additionally, the inner trabecular bone, which plays a critical role in overall bone strength, displayed an equally impressive average increase of 1.73% in bone mineral density among the OsteoStrong group. Conversely, the control group experienced a decline of 1.31%. These results emphasize the transformative impact of OsteoStrong in promoting optimal bone health.
Furthermore, the average T-Score for the OsteoStrong group improved from -2.27 to -1.93, signifying a substantial enhancement in bone mineral density. The significance of this improvement cannot be overstated, as it indicates a positive shift towards stronger and healthier bones.
The study showed a statistically significant improvement of BMD in the lumbar spine and TBS in people with osteoporosis treated with Osteostrong. The Osteostrong method may have a synergistic effect with anti-osteoporotic medication, significantly reducing bone fracture risk.
Brief, Low-impact, High-intensity Osteogenic Loading Training Utilizing Proprietary Osteostrong Devices With Once-A-Week, 10 Minute Treatments Improves Bone Mineral Density In Women With Osteoporosis Of The Lumbar Spine, Nektaria Papadopoulou-Marketou, MD, PhD, Anna Papageorgiou, PhD, George Vavetsis, PhD, Tsiamyrtzis Panagiotis, PhD, and George P Chrousos, MD, ScD 2023, Journal of the Endocrine Society
In a 2024 study in Sweden, it was reported that once a week 10-minute OsteoStrong sessions were more effective at increasing bone quality than 120 minutes per week in a customised osteoporosis training program led by a certified Physiotherapist, with a positive effect on bone mineral density and no fractures recorded during the study.
In a 2024 Australian Study of 39 post menopause osteoporotic women, an average +118% increase in force was measured after 8 months of once a week 10-minute OsteoStrong sessions. The increase in leg strength in this study was a significant +188% after the 9-month study. This is important because leg strength is strongly associated with longevity. A study published in The Journal of Nutrition, Health & Aging in 2021 found that greater leg muscle strength is linked to improved survival rates among older adults. The study highlighted that maintaining muscle strength, particularly in the legs, helps preserve mobility, reduce fall risk, and support overall health, all of which contribute to a longer, healthier life.

In the Australian Study significant improvements in grip strength, sit-to-stand test and balance were also recorded. Previous studies completed in the US, UK and Greece have also shown significant improvements in bone density, based on DEXA results.
Important studies due to be published in early 2025 are currently being completed by Monash University in Melbourne, the Malmo Institute in Greece and the Karolinska Institute in Sweden to further quantity the benefits of OsteoStrong sessions for older female menopausal women.
With more than 400,000 OsteoStrong sessions completed in Australia and 10 million sessions internationally, our program’s effectiveness, safety and success are well-proven on a global scale.
