Loneliness has become one of the most serious yet under-discussed health risks of our time.
A recent study out of the University of Kansas found that having just one quality conversation each day – whether it’s catching up, sharing a laugh, offering a compliment, or simply listening – can boost happiness and improve your mood, and lower your stress and anxiety.
Coincidentally before reading the Kansas Study, today I had a truly heart-warming encounter with Norma, a delightful 92-year-old who once worked as a ledger machine operator. We shared a lovely conversation about her career working and living in the northern suburbs of Melbourne and her family, including her daughter who lives in Frankston. You could see her eyes sparkle with joy as we reminisced. I shared that my 97-year-old mother’s name is also Norma, and she grew up on a farm in South Australia. When I left, we shared names, and I could see a noticeable lift in her spirits – it was such a rewarding experience for both of us.
At OsteoStrong, we’ve always known that our sessions are about more than just improving bone density or reducing joint and muscle pain. They are also about connection. Real, human connection – the kind Tony Robbins, world-renowned life strategist, entrepreneur, author, speaker and OsteoStrong business partner, identifies as a core human need.
In a world that’s more digitally connected than ever but increasingly emotionally isolated, creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported is becoming essential.
This is what makes our OsteoStrong community so powerful. If you’re part of the OsteoStrong family, thank you for bringing your warmth and energy each week.
If you’re looking for a community that truly supports your health journey – our doors and hearts are open.
One meaningful conversation a day.
That’s all it takes to change someone’s world.
